Notes for Talking to Elle
I discovered tonight that when talking to Elle (our youngest cat), verbal comma placement is key. At the time she was nibbling the corner of a bag of topsoil. What Liz exclaimed had two potential interpretations, depending on comma placement.
"Stop eating that dirtbag!"
"Stop eating that, dirtbag!"
"Stop eating that dirtbag!"
"Stop eating that, dirtbag!"
