Here is a very confusing story about a duck.
Let me break this down for you.
1) Hunter shoots duck.
2) Hunter thinks duck is dead, puts in fridge.
3) Duck not dead after two days.
4) Duck gets taken to vet.
5) Duck put in animal sanctuary to be nursed back to heath. Doctors say unlikely bird can survive in wild.
Question: Why was step 4 & 5 not
4) Duck's neck snapped.
5) Dinner prepared.
I don't get it.

Possible reasons:
A)Hunter's wife, not hunter, found duck and took it to vet.
B)Duck survived gunshot and two day stint in fridge. Extreme hardiness endeared duck to hunter.
C)Duck survived gunshot and two day stint in fridge. Extreme hardiness scared the begeebis out of hunter who figured someone was trying to tell him something. Hunter is now embarking on new life producing and marketing tofu-based waterfowel substitutes.
I vote for emily's A choice- that sounds like our house.
