Ho ho ho! Welcome to a very special "Iron Man Versus", where old Shell-head shows us the true meaning of Christmas! Lets take a gander at the cover to Iron Man #254 (1990), where the Golden Avenger squares off against the Crimson Sleigh-rider himself! (Sort of.)
Behold, Iron Man vs. Santa Clause!
Unfortunately, the awesomeness of the cover does not appear in the issue itself, nor is the story called "Ho-Ho-Homicide!", which I think is just a shame. Really, what better title could you have for anything, EVER?!
Okay, so it's not really Santa Clause. It's actually Spymaster disguised as jolly old Saint Nick so that he can crash a Christmas party so he can... actually, why don't I just show you?
Even though Iron Man doesn't directly fight Santa in the issue, this bit is pretty good.
After this the Spymaster unbeards himself and a fight ensues in an entirely predictable manner until on the last page we learn the true meaning of Christmas, or something.
What?! That doesn't make any sense at all! Why is he letting him go? Because it's Christmas?! But, the kids... the endangered kids... he... I mean... aw, screw it. Yeah, there's been enough fighting today. I'm sure he'll remember your Christmas kindness and never beat you to within an inch of your life after he finds out Iron Man and Tony Stark are one and the same... oh.
Well, there you have it. I bet you never knew Iron Man fought Santa Clause (sort of).
Merry Christmas!
