Comic Con

Yesterday I went to the Motor City Comic Con. I had a lot of fun and saw a lot of cool things and people.

I was originally looking forward to seeing Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating, but after watching them sign autographs for a minute I could see they were just there to make $20 a pop for autographs and were actually dicks. Plus they both looked like Ambercrombie models, which REALLY shouts, "I don't belong" when you're at a Con.

I did talk to two people. One was a comic book artist named Jason Howard. He just co-created a new book called "The Astounding Wolf-Man" that I'm really liking so far. I went to his booth to tell him I love his work on the book and he was super cool and appreciative. That's the kind of guy you actually want to talk to. He was doing a quick sketch for a fan when I went up to him, which was also a cool thing to do.

The coolest thing that happened was that I met Billy West. He did a session where he talked about his career and afterwords he was outside the room and I went up to him and told him how much I love his work (part of me still wants to be a voice actor) and asked if I could get a picture with him. We said something along the lines of "of course you can" and jumped next to me a threw his arm around me. He is a super awesome guy.

I also saw a lot of cool comic books, toys, and the car from Knight Rider, but meeting Billy West was still the coolest thing that happened. I did succeed in my task to find out how much my death of Captain America issue is worth, and also discovered that a few of the other books I've gotten in the last few months have doubled or trippled in value.

Meeting Billy West is pretty awesome. And damn, he looks short next to you.
